I właśnie pozostałość tych kortów wciąż widać, więc kiedy następnym razem będziesz stać w korku przed tunelem Wisłostrady w kierunku północnym, spójrz w lewo i wyobraź sobie jak to miejsce wyglądało przed wojną…

Budynek został poważnie uszkodzony we wrześniu 1939.

This time I would like to introduce you the Warsaw Officers’ Yacht Club of the Republic of Poland, which was located in the place of today’s section of Wisłostrada towards Żoliborz between the viaducts of the Poniatowski Bridge and the Średnicowy Bridge. It was built in the years 1930-1932.

In the building there was a restaurant with windows to the entire height of the facade, club rooms, a swimming pool and a gym. Wide stairs led from the building to the bank of the Vistula River. There were hangars for boats on the boulevard along the river, and there were tennis courts near the cross-city viaduct … and the remains of these courts are still visible, so next time you stand in a traffic jam in front of the Wisłostrada tunnel towards the north, look left and imagine how this the place looked like before the war …

The building was seriously damaged in September 1939. Its demolition was planned as early as the end of 1939, as its location limited the expansion of both the upper and lower Vistula boulevard. Ultimately, the building was demolished after the war.
